This is going to be my framework of choice.
That is until I dig, search, scrape, and lazily google the internet to find one that appeals to me more.
What is kohanaPHP?
“Kohana is a PHP 5 framework that uses the Model View Controller architectural pattern. It aims to be secure, lightweight, and extremely flexible.” - http://kohanaphp.com
Why kohanaPHP?
I was playing around with codeIgniter and felt that it was attracting the wrong audience of developers.
That is, a sub-group of developers who are looking for out-of-the-box solutions and not frameworks.
I use Wordpress because it does everything I need a blog to do ‘out-of-the-box’. However, a framework shouldn’t offer out-of-the-box ’solutions’ it should offer out-of-the-box ‘tools’.
KohanaPHP seems to be a framework attracting developers interested in offering and expanding upon secure, lightweight, scalable tool/tool sets.
